Spotting
As all carpets are made differently, in different places, the consistency of fiber quality cannot be ascertained and must be checked before applying any chemical agents and water for scrubbing, spotting or extracting stains or dried dust from the carpet. Carpets may loose color quickly if their fiber is sensitive to acid based chemicals or alkalis.
Spotters
Use of spotters is absolutely necessary. To begin with, use less harsh spotters. If necessary use strong spotters but after use, neutralize high acid based or alkaline based spotters.
Scrapping of Spots
Use of a meat tenderizer is suggested for packing a spot. Digging or brushing a spot is not recommended. Spot should be scrapped in the middle and towel or cloth should be used for packing the spot.
Use of Detergents
Shampoos, spotters or detergents can be used to remove a spot. But over use of any of these will result in leaving off these detergents on the carpet, which might not even be removed through vacuuming
Carpet Shrinkages
Carpet shrinkages may result if carpet is excess water is used. As these detergents used for spotting are chemically active, always use the prescribed level of water to wet your carpet, to avoid your carpet from sticking together or shrinkage or any other problem
Dirt and Detergent residue
Dirt and detergent residue should be extracted. If left, carpet powders off. These must be removed periodically, as this process will take out the dirt that is lying deep in the carpet. The use of Rotary Scrubbing is suggested as it will clean the fibers of the carpet.
Coating of Carpet Protector
Do not coat the cleaned area of the carpet if you feel that the spot or oil stain has not been completely removed or if you see that the residue from the scrubbing and cleaning is still on the carpet. By coating of carpet protector on a dirty and spotty carpet, gluing will take place and will be difficult to remove.
How To Restore You Carpet
Hot water extracting products are available in the market. These when applied according to the instruction, will help you to restore your carpets look and will make it look like new.
Mixture should be made according to the instruction.
Do Not Over Mix.
Over mixing will result in residue left over on the carpet and dust and mud will quickly collect on it.
In places where carpet is in excessive use, this treatment should be done in
every 12 weeks. This time can be extended if extraction / maintenance is
done on regular basis
Before Hot water extraction is done. Extracting chemical is sprayed at least 5 minutes prior to the extraction.
Where there is a heavy soiled area, scrubbing with nylon brush or rotary machine is recommended to loosen the hardness of the soiled area.
- Water should be used only for extraction.
- No chemicals should be used in extraction tank
- Wet and dry passes should be made in equal numbers.
- Cotton pads should be used on the rotary machine.
This will not only enhance drying time but will also remove any mud or dirt left behind.
Appropriate time should be allowed for the carpet to dry, before allowing its use.
If your carpet is glued to the floor or to the skirting, make sure that the carpet is dried properly. Water tends to loosen the glue and the carpet may look ugly. Proper care should be taken so that over wetting does not take place.

How To Vacuum
Is your carpet’s utility light, medium or heavy?If the carpet has light use, vacuuming can be done every fortnight. If the use is medium, alternate day vacuuming is suggested and if the carpet has heavy traffic, it is suggested to vacuum daily. As daily vacuuming will help in removal will help is extracting dirt, mud/soil and keep your carpet safe.
Type of Vacuum Cleaner to be used
Use of 80 CFM (cubic feet air per minute) is suggested. This will help to suck the uncompromising gravel from your carpet.
An upright vacuum with dual-motor, heater and double row of brushes with high suction is suggested for best results.
Quick strokes are less effective. You must choose to make intentional passes on these spots 4 to 5 times over the same area.
Carpet Maintenance
Damages like spills, stains, spots occur during use of Carpet.
Scrape and vacuum dried soil. To scrape out dried soil use any blunt metal object.
For spill of water or drinks or pets urine, immediately extract the material and scrap any excess left.
For dried spots, you must first wet the place with normal water and use a pad of cotton or towel so that the towel suck water from the spot. Do not scrub as it may spread the stain. Lift the towel or cotton to remove the moisture as continuous pressing of the pad will result in water penetration deep in the carpet.
Same method should be followed if you are using cleaning chemical to remove stubborn spots and stains. But must rinse to remove any residue after cleaning is done with any cleaning products.
